Private Lessons with the
MTP VOICE STUDIO

Whether you’re looking to strengthen your vocal technique, prepare for an upcoming audition, or simply grow as a performer, MTP Voice Studio offers personalized instruction from a roster of experienced, trained professionals. Find the right teacher to help you build confidence, develop your skills, and reach your goals.

Lessons are priced at $75 per hour, or $45 per half hour. MTP suggests hourly lessons for students ages 10+, but they are not required.

CHELSEA GAULT

Teaching Artist  She/Her

Chelsea is a musician who has spent over 20 years honing her craft, performing at various venues throughout the city and collaborating with talented musicians both on and off stage. She holds a BA in Vocal Performance and MAT in Music Education from the University of the Arts, where she studied the diverse styles of Classical, Jazz, Musical Theater, Blues, Pop/Rock, Motown, and Soul.

 

In her private lessons, students experience a lighthearted environment where they build confidence, learn age appropriate vocal techniques, and discover the joy that comes from connecting to our favorite music. Whether you dabble in karaoke or are preparing to book a dream role, Chelsea’s studio welcomes students of all ages and skill sets to strengthen their voice and musicianship!

LEXI SCHREIBER

Teaching Artist  She/Her

Lexi Schreiber has a Master of Art in Theatre from Villanova University (2017). She completed her undergrad at University of the Arts to receive a Bachelor of Music with a Minor in Musical Theatre (2014). She has been teaching voice lessons in the greater Philadelphia area since 2014. She uses a classical vocal technique and foundation and applies it to any genre of music. Lexi is best known for her technique in expanding and growing her students’ belt and assisting them in navigating their mixed voice. She challenges students to be singers and actors as one. Lexi’s goal with all her students is to help them feel the most comfortable and confident on stage. She aims to get students out of their heads and into their bodies to focus on the feeling of the voice to produce their best vocal sound.

LIZ DUSKA

Teaching Artist  She/Her

Elizabeth Duska is a graduate of the Boston Conservatory with a BM in Vocal Performance and an MM in Music Education. She has been teaching voice for 7 years and has performance experience in Opera, Jazz, Pop/Rock and Musical Theatre. She encourages all of her students to expand to multiple genres with a healthy vocal technique that helps to produce confident and capable singing. Helping students to feel strength in their abilities so that they can enjoy their craft to the fullest is Elizabeth’s top priority as a teacher.

QUEADE NORAH

Teaching Artist  She/Her

Queade holds a Bachelor of Music in Marketing and Music Business/Management from Berklee College of Music, as well as a Master of Arts in Global Entertainment and Music Business with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Berklee College of Music - Valencia, Spain Campus. In addition to studying music business, Queade is trained in Bel Canto vocal technique in addition to using culturally appropriate practices to create a safe and inclusive learning space for students. She has taken professional development courses in vocal pedagogy and is a member of pedagogy organizations such as MTEA, MTNA, AEA, and GPNATS. A top priority in her studio is for students to demonstrate their gift of singing without compromising the integrity of their instrument. In building their understanding of functional vocal tools, students become equipped to express their artistry with freedom and authenticity. Queade is also an Adjunct Professor at Howard University where she works as a private voice teacher to Music Therapy and Musical Theatre majors.

MTP Private Voice Lesson Policies

Location

Lessons are held in-person at Music Theatre Philly Studios at 1301 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA. Music Theatre Philly does not provide voice lessons via zoom.


Tuition & Availability
Lessons are priced at $75 per 60 minutes, or $45 per 30 minutes unless otherwise specified by Music Theatre Philly.
Lessons are scheduled on a monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly basis. Sporadic audition preparation lessons may be scheduled at-will, and must be agreed upon by the instructor and Music Theatre Philly.


Responsibilities of the Client
I. Client must notify the instructor directly at least 48 hours in advance to cancel a lesson. Student cancellations after 48 hours without proper cause will result in full payment for the lesson.
i. In the event of illness or emergency past the 48 hour window, lessons may be rescheduled at the instructor’s discretion.
ii. Missed lessons without proper notification, will result in full payment for the lesson.
iii. Regularly re-scheduled lessons or no shows will be evaluated for termination at the instructor’s discretion.
II. The Student will arrive on time to all scheduled lessons. Lessons will end at their scheduled time, regardless of the time of Student’s arrival unless otherwise agreed upon by the instructor.
III. Students must bring all necessary materials to their regularly scheduled lesson times including a water bottle, sheet music, and binder.

Responsibilities of the Instructor
I. The Instructor shall begin lessons at their scheduled time, or the Instructor shall extend the lesson to meet the required lesson time.
II. If the Instructor has to cancel a lesson for any reason, a makeup lesson should be scheduled to the satisfaction of both parties.
ii. If the makeup lesson cannot be rescheduled to the satisfaction of both parties, no payment is required of the student.


Termination of Agreement
Students who wish to end lessons must provide written notice to Instructor and Music Theatre Philly 2 weeks prior to their last lesson date.
Students who wish to change voice teachers during dates of their agreement may contact Jenna O’Neill, Director of Programming.


Performance Opportunities
All voice students will have the opportunity to perform in Music Theatre Philly’s semi-annual voice studio concerts. Students are encouraged, but not required to attend.
